The Dallas Mavericks snapped their five-game slide with a 133-129 win against the San Antonio Spurs last night. What made the win impressive was that Dallas only had eight players available.

Spencer Dinwiddie came off the bench and dropped 28 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and four three-pointers on 9-for-16 shooting from the field and 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, Kessler Edwards, Max Christie, and Dante Exum added 26, 23, 22, 12, and 10 points.
Dallas and San Antonio will compete at the AT&T Center again on Wednesday for the second game of their back-to-back set.

The Dallas Mavericks are back at .500 with a 33-33 record – good for 10th in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs dropped to 26-37 – good for the 13th seed.
Dallas Mavericks News: Jason Kidd praises Kessler Edwards’ performance against the San Antonio Spurs
Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd called Kessler Edwards “incredible” for his yeoman’s work at the center position. The 6’7″ Pepperdine product also had 11 rebounds and three assists. Edwards played with an eye injury he sustained after colliding with teammate Dwight Powell last Sunday against the Phoenix Suns.

“He was great. Kessler was incredible,” Kidd said about Edwards via ClutchPoints’ Joey Mistretta. “Made big shots, rebounded the ball for us. He is playing the center position. He’s doing a great job for us. Also just being able to play off of Klay and other guys when he rolls and being able to finish.”
“It’s been different. It’s been a minute now, so getting used to it. My teammates have had my back the whole time, making it a lot easier for me. Coach is giving tips and stuff. With this many games under my belt playing that way it feels good to be getting into a rhythm,” Edwards said about his performance.
