After going through a rollercoaster ride in his NBA career, All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving has settled nicely with the Dallas Mavericks. Proof of his resurgence among fans is an epic mural made by one of his fans in the Philippines.

Irving has been immortalized with a basketball court mural in the Philippines, the first of 100 planned in the country. The mural, titled “Uncle Drew” after the 2018 movie Irving starred in, was unveiled recently by Philippine artist Maya Carandang. The court is located in the northern province of the country called La Union.

The mural depicts the Dallas star reacting to hitting a game-winning shot earlier this year against the Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets. The artist specifically captured Irving making the shot with his left hand, which was notable as the point guard is a right-handed player. After hitting the shot, he stared at his left hand in disbelief before jumping into his teammates’ arms.

Carandang had been posting his artwork on social media for weeks leading up to the unveiling. After seeing the mural, Irving responded on Instagram, saying “All I needed was an invite. Next year for sure. Thank you for the LOVE. This is Legendary.” The artist plans to create 99 more basketball court murals throughout the Philippines, with the Mavericks star’s court being the first.

After the mural was revealed on social media, fans have reacted endlessly about it. These reactions can be seen in a post shared by MFFL Nation on X.

“This goes so hard!!!!!!” Chris Rhodes said.

“When the Mavs win the title this will be the cover for 2k26,” El Capitan Crujido tweeted.

“That’s amazing! Respect Philippines for the recognition given to the greatest NBA ball handler of all time!” Sebastian Diaconu expressed.

“That MF clean!!!” Just Watch TJ posted.

“I have another reason to visit the Philippines,” MattMavsFan shared.

“Understandable Filipinos are basically Kyrie incarnates whenever I play with my friends,” revnge revealed.

“Loveeeee that it’s in his mavs jersey 😭” VA said.

Drafted first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2011, he has been an eight-time NBA All-Star and won the 2016 NBA championship with the Cavs. He has also represented the United States, winning MVP honors at the 2014 FIBA World Cup.

Despite some off-court controversies, Irving’s impressive skill set and championship pedigree have solidified his status as one of the most talented and influential players of his generation. Tributes like these only serve as proof that Irving is indeed one of the best to ever play the sport.
