Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has broken his silence over the recent comment made by former Mavs forward Chandler Parsons, who said that the Slovenian star and Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis didn’t have a good relationship during their time together in the Big D.
Via Kevin Sherrington of the Dallas Morning News:
“You see, that’s why I don’t watch a lot of that,” he said when told Tuesday of Parsons’ comments. “They’re wrong. I’ve talked to Chandler Parsons maybe twice in my life, so I don’t know how he would know this. Me and KP have a good relationship.
“I don’t know why people say these things.”
Former Dallas Mavericks teammates facing off in the 2024 NBA Finals

Whatever the case is, Doncic and Porzingis will look to thwart each other on the court, beginning this Thursday when Game 1 of the NBA Finals kicks off at TD Garden in Boston. Porzingis is expected to finally play again after missing the previous two rounds after suffering a leg injury (right soleus strain) in the first round against the Miami Heat.
Porzingis, who spent two and a half seasons with the Mavericks from 2019 to 2022, will be playing a big role for the Celtics in the finals. Granted that he’s healthy again, Porzingis will be a tough cover for the Mavs’ defense, considering his size, length, and ability to make shots from behind the arc.
Doncic, meanwhile, has also been managing lower-body injuries in the playoffs, though, he’s still playing at an elite level, as evidenced by his incredible work in the Western Conference finals versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.
