Dallas Mavericks: Paul Pierce Reveals How Luka Doncic Can Become the ‘Face of the NBA’

Without a doubt, Luka Doncic is one of the best players to have emerged from the current crop of superstars in the league today. But for Boston Celtics icon Paul Pierce, though, there is a way for the Dallas Mavericks’ guard to stand out as the next Face of the NBA.

At this point in time, several superstars are already exiting their prime due to aging, injuries, or a combination of both. Some of these include Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James, Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry, and Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant, among others.

Since these stars are already on their way out, the NBA is in need of a player who can carry the league into the next decade. While guys like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic have won it all, the individual needed must be young and can help fans gravitate towards the sport. Some names that have been suggested are Ja Morant, Jayson Tatum, and Anthony Edwards.

But among all of these names, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic possesses a lot of talent housed inside his 6’7″ frame. And as seen in this year’s playoffs, it looks like Slovenian star has what it takes to become the next Face of the NBA.

Boston Celtics Icon Paul Pierce Details How Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic Can Become the Face of the NBA

According to Boston Celtics icon Paul Pierce, there is a way for Doncic to come out on top as the league’s face for the following years. In a video shared by Undisputed’s offician account on X:

“If Luka wins the chip and gets Finals MVP, he no DOUBT will be the best player in the league AND face of the league.” — @PaulPierce34 pic.twitter.com/701gVGSXfE

    — UNDISPUTED (@undisputed) May 27, 2024

Ever since he entered the league in 2018, Doncic has become one of the best players on the planet. He has since been named to five All-Star Games, five All-NBA teams, won Rookie of the Year, and this season’s scoring title.

It remains to be seen whether Doncic and company can make it to the NBA Finals and defeat Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics. If that happens, expect fans to name the Slovenian star as the new face of the league.
