Not even a mind-blowing 28-point triple-double from Luka Doncic was enough to lift the Dallas Mavericks against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday night. Anthony Edwards produced a masterful performance to save the Wolves from an embarrassing 4-0 sweep, as this series now heads back to Minnesota for Game 5 on Thursday.
Doncic, however, remains unfazed.
Dallas Mavericks News: Luka Doncic Sends Defiant Message
After finishing Tuesday’s 105-100 loss with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, Doncic was asked in his post-game interview about his mindset heading into Game 5 in Minnesota. Luka had a defiant response:
“We gotta win 4 games. What mindset? We gotta win 1 more game, that’s it,” he said.

Now that he’s put it in perspective, the mission does seem pretty straightforward for the Mavs.
As Doncic said, all that Dallas needs now is just one win. They are still in the driver’s seat in this series and there’s no denying that the Western Conference Championship is theirs to lose.
The Mavs have a bit of a tougher path to the NBA Finals now that they have to win one more game on the road. As Luka said, however, this doesn’t change the team’s mentality heading into what they will treat as a do-or-die game on Thursday night.
