The Western Conference Finals is upon us at last. On Wednesday night, the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves go head-to-head for Game 1 of what should be a compelling series between two teams with stronger-than-ever championship aspirations this season.
Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes has weighed in on the upcoming showdown, and he isn’t only taking the Mavs to win the West Finals. According to the three-time Super Bowl-winning QB, Dallas is very much capable of going all the way this season.
Dallas Mavericks News: Patrick Mahomes’ Confident West Finals Take
Mahomes, a native of Tyler, Texas, has been a very avid supporter of the Mavs. In fact, the 28-year-old has been in his fair share of playoff games this season as he’s showcased his loyalty to his beloved Mavericks.
Ahead of Game 1 on Wednesday, the Chiefs superstar sounded off on Dallas’ chances against the mighty Wolves, as well as how he is confident that this could finally be the year for Luka Doncic and Co.:
“It’s gonna be a hard series, but I think the Mavs have what it takes,” he said. “… If Luka plays the way Luka can play, and Kyrie is Kyrie, the Mavs have as good of a chance as anyone of winning it all.”

That’s a pretty bold take, but not one you wouldn’t expect from a guy like Mahomes. What you can be sure of, though, is that Anthony Edwards and the rest of the Wolves will have a thing or two to say about Mahomes’ hot take here.
It all starts on Wednesday night.
