Mark Cuban is certainly no stranger to controversies or issues during his time as the Dallas Mavericks majority owner. Just recently, thought, he came out with the truth about one of his old photos that may not be safe for work.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Cuban was involved in various entrepreneurial ventures from a young age, including selling garbage bags and running newspapers during a strike. He graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and went on to found successful companies like MicroSolutions and Broadcast.com, which he later sold at substantial profits.
Cuban’s investments span multiple industries, from technology and media to sports and entertainment. He has been a prominent figure in the NBA, known for his active involvement with the Mavericks, with which he won the 2011 NBA Championship with a team led by All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki. Outside of business, Cuban has been involved in philanthropy, political commentary, and reality television.
Back in 2023, Cuban sold his majority stake to the Adelson and Dumont families, who run Las Vegas Sands Corp. The sale, valued at around $3.5 billion, will see Patrick Dumont serve as the Mavericks’ governor, while Cuban will maintain a 27% stake and control over basketball operations.
Mark Cuban Reveals Truth Behind Old NSFW Dallas Mavericks Photo
Before he owned most of the Mavs and helped the team win its first championship back in 2011, Cuban started out as a young entrepreneur hoping to make the franchise big. Along the way, an old photo of him in a towel surfaced online. In a tweet he posted on his official X account, Cuban explained how that image came to be.
I owned the Mavs about a year when I did this. The old school NBA owners were not happy. They had no idea… https://t.co/CymaP7E910

Even if he sold most of his shares of the Mavericks, Cuban still remains active with the franchise and wealthy at the same time. He sold a majority stake in the Mavericks for around $3.5 billion, over 12 times what he initially paid for the team in 2000. As a result, his net worth has increased to $5.4 billion, making him the 559th richest person in the world.
Even with all the controversies and larger-than-life persona he has cultivated over the years, no one can deny Cuban’s love for the Mavericks. And with a full season ahead of them, Luka Doncic and company have the chance to win the big one after falling to Jayson Tatum’s Boston Celtics in the Finals a couple of months ago.
