The Dallas Mavericks and their fans have been through a lot this past month. After trading Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis, Davis injured his groin during his first game. Then, earlier this week, Kyrie Irving was ruled out for the rest of the 2024-25 campaign after rupturing his ACL.

Ex-Dallas Mavericks swingman Theo Pinson believes his former team can fix their situation this summer by trading for Kevin Durant, who could leave the Phoenix Suns.
“You got to go get Kevin Durant this summer. It’s a must-have,” Pinson said on the Run Your Race podcast. “Understandably you raised the ticket prices, alright well you need three stars if you want people to come to the game right. 8% higher, that part I don’t really condone, so I’m not a part of that one.”

“The thing is the Mavs got a lot of assets they can use to get Kevin Durant in my opinion. You’re not giving up Anthony Davis, so it’s either (Daniel) Gafford or (Dereck) Lively. It makes sense for both teams. That’s the one thing, the Suns don’t have is a big man, and they’ve got three over here,” he added.
Dallas Mavericks’ roster is thinned out
The Dallas Mavericks suffered their fifth loss in their last six games after a 137-107 defeat against the Milwaukee Bucks last Wednesday.

Klay Thompson led the team, recording 28 points, four rebounds, four assists, and six three-pointers on 11-for-27 shooting from the field in the losing effort.
Injuries have ravaged the Dallas Mavericks. It got so bad that they only had eight players against Milwaukee. Besides Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving, Daniel Gafford, Dereck Lively II, PJ Washington, Kai Jones, Jaden Hardy, and Caleb Martin are also injured.
