Dennis Schroder was recently on the receiving end of a trolling attempt by YouTuber Ray, also known as “Rayasianboy.” The Brooklyn Nets point guard, however, would have none of it.
Rayasianboy attempted to troll Schroder by telling his followers to spam Schroder’s livestream with fake news that he’s been traded to the Detroit Pistons. The Nets star had the most out-of-pocket response to the spamming.
“Ray, get the f**k out of my chat,” Schroder said.
The German had a strong run with his national team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. While they failed to make the podium in the bronze medal game against Serbia, Dennis Schroder was named All-Star Five along with LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokic, and Victor Wembanyama. His rising stock will make him a formidable player to acquire by any NBA team hoping to contend for the championship.
Through his 11 seasons in the NBA, Schroder has already played for seven franchises, getting traded four times, including his recent move from the Toronto Raptors to Brooklyn. This seemingly constant move might be the cause of the trolling from Rayasianboy. While Schroder is used to being on the move, he doesn’t have any interest in joining the Pistons, which ended their previous season 14-68, tying the NBA record for the longest consecutive losing streak in a single season with 28.
Dennis Schroder will be a valuable addition to teams looking for contendership
Dennis Schroder may not be interested in going to Detrtoit, but he isn’t much better off in Brooklyn, which lost Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks earlier in the offseason. The Nets are also expected to be at the bottom of the rankings this coming season.
Reports say that Brooklyn has made all its veteran role players available via trade, so teams looking to strengthen their bench scoring and playmaking might consider acquiring Dennis Schroder.
The German point guard averaged 17.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 1.2 steals in his six games with his national team in the Olympics. He made an averaged total of 45.8% shots, including 39.1% from beyond the arc.
His Olympic stats may not carry over when he returns to the NBA this coming season, but that’s because he plays a relatively smaller role in the league. He will be a relatively affordable trade target when his $13 million contract with the Nets expires.
