Although the Denver Nuggets didn’t get the chance to go for a second consecutive ring last season, head coach Michael Malone is still a winner off the court. Proof of that was when he and his wife purchased a beautiful highlands ranch house worth $7 million recently.
Malone’s coaching career began in the college ranks, where he held assistant coaching positions at Friends School of Baltimore, Oakland University, Providence College, and the University of Virginia.

Malone’s NBA coaching career started in 2001 when he joined the New York Knicks as a coaching associate, before being promoted to assistant coach in 2003. He then spent time as an assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Hornets, and Golden State Warriors, where he was instrumental in the team’s success and earned a reputation as one of the league’s top assistant coaches.
In 2013, Malone was hired as the head coach of the Sacramento Kings, but his tenure there was short-lived. In 2015, he was hired as the head coach of the Nuggets, a position he has held ever since. Under Malone’s leadership, the Nuggets have become a perennial playoff contender with All-Star big man Nikola Jokic as the team’s focal point on offense. He has been recognized for his coaching acumen, earning multiple NBA All-Star Game head coaching selections.
Denver Nuggets Head Coach Michael Malone Purchases Ranch House Worth $7 Million

Malone has surely kept himself busy during the offseason this year. In an article written by Maddie Rhodes for KDVR, it’s revealed that the Nuggets head coach has found a new home worth millions of dollars just outside of Denver.
“The broker, Tina Christensen, said she threw a catered VIP/broker’s open at the Highlands Ranch house. The Malones came about 30 minutes before it started and stayed for a couple of hours.
Later that evening, an offer came in and Christensen said the house sold for $6.8 million. While the listing is closed, Zillow still shows some of the best features of the house, which include a tennis court, a workout room, a game room and a wine cellar, along with other luxuries like walk-in closets, a heated five-car garage, six beds and nine bathrooms,” Rhodes wrote.
Throughout his 11-year run as a head coach, Malone has a record of 463 wins and 362 losses. His time as Denver’s head coach, in particular, has yielded 424 wins, 295 losses, and a championship in 2023.

Apart from living in style, Malone now has a chance to better host the Jokic and the Nuggets for whatever reason he deems fit. In any case, the head coach can now enjoy the fruits of his labor.
