Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. knows a thing or two about getting buckets on the court, especially since he has played with three-time MVP Nikola Jokic for all of his career. But when asked if Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark can score on her, the young star shared a surprising take.
Porter Jr. began his NBA career in 2018 when he was selected as the Denver Nuggets’ 14th pick in the draft. However, a back injury he sustained while playing for Missouri in college prevented him from making his debut during the 2018-19 season.

After two years of recovery and development, Porter made a significant impact during the 2020-21 season. As the Nuggets’ starting small forward in 54 out of the 61 games he played, the former Missouri star averaged 19.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. Unfortunately, his progress was hindered by another back injury, limiting him to only nine games for Denver in the following year.
With a formidable roster featuring key players like Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon, the team excelled during Porter’s fifth year in the NBA. During that time, the Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals, advanced to the NBA Finals, and overcame the Miami Heat in five games. The Nuggets emerged victorious, clinching their first-ever championship in the franchise’s history.
Denver Nuggets Forward Michael Porter Jr, Shares His Thoughts on Caitlin Clark’s Offense

Having focused much of his talent on getting buckets, Porter sure does have what it takes to be one of the league’s best scorers down the line. The thing is, a recent video posted by BronGotGame on X pitted the Nuggets star with Clark on the court.

Over the course of 12 games this season, the WNBA star has averaged 16.8 points on 32 percent shooting from the field. On the other hand, Porter notched 16.7 points, including hitting almost 40 percent from beyond the arc this season.

Rather than answer the question directly, Porter chose to highlight Clark’s ability to shoot and ended the conversation by saying that male ballers going up against their female counterparts shouldn’t be done. Nevertheless, a potential match between the two will surely interest a lot of basketball fans.
