After suffering a 116-110 loss to the Boston Celtics in Beantown last Sunday, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets got back up, outlasting the Sacramento Kings in a 116-110 win at home on Wednesday.
Up next for the Nuggets is a showdown against the Phoenix Suns this Friday night at Ball Arena in Mile High City, with the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player’s status looking uncertain.
Jokic is among the players on the Nuggets’ injury report heading into the fourth and final meeting with the Suns in the 2024-25 NBA regular season.
Via Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports:
Nikola Jokic (left ankle inflammation) and Aaron Gordon (left ankle sprain) are questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Suns.
Zeke Nnaji (left ankle sprain) is probable, Julian Strawther (left knee sprain) and DaRon Holmes II (right Achilles tendon repair) are out

Will Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic play against the Suns?

With Zeke Nnaji and Aaron Gordon both questionable as well, there’s a possibility that the Nuggets will go up against the Suns with a much slimmer frontcourt.
DeAndre Jordan is healthy, but his best days in the league are way behind him now. Peyton Watson should also get plenty of run on the court should Jokic and Gordon miss the Suns contest.
The Nuggets lead the regular-season series versus Phoenix, two games to one. Jokic played in all three meetings so far this season with the Suns, averaging 27.7 points on an incredible 67.3 percent shooting from the floor.
On the season, the Serbian big man is putting up a triple-double average of 28.8 points, 12.8 rebounds and 10.4 assists through 56 games played.
