The Denver Nuggets continue their marauding run past most NBA teams as they look to win another championship banner in the Nikola Jokic era.
Nikola Jokic is at the center of everything good happening for the Nuggets this season. His on-court dominance is helping the Nuggets rank second in the West this late in the season while being one of the most entertaining teams to watch.

Jokic’s insane basketball plays and the Nuggets’ ability to follow up on his on-court leadership is one of the biggest reasons why the team’s back-to-back games against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder were must-watch TV.
While the first game ended in a loss, the second of the back-to-backs saw the visitors take one back. The duel between the two MVP favorites have people wondering what they think of their chances at winning the award after facing each other on back-to-backs.
Nikola Jokic believes he’s the worthy MVP candidate after leading the Denver Nuggets past the Oklahoma City Thunder

Jokic addressed a question about the MVP race after a masterful performance against SGA and the Thunder.
Bennett Durando of The Denver Post quoted Jokic on his thoughts on the race, and his statement would excite many Nuggets fans:
“This is my third or fourth year in a row, so … I don’t know. I cannot control it. I will say that I think I’m playing the best basketball of my life, so if that’s enough, it’s enough. If not, the guy deserves it. He’s really amazing.”
Jokic is aware of voter exhaustion possibly affecting his chances of winning a second back-to-back MVP nod. The three-time winner has been in the conversation for almost five years now, so it’s understandable if the voting body decides to give the award to someone else.
However, Jokic’s performance during Denver’s 140-127 dismantling of the Thunder at the Paycom Center is a terrific reminder of why he’s in the conversation in the first place. He finished the game with a game-high 35 points, 18 rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and one block.
On the other hand, SGA had a respectable 25 points, three boards, seven assists, a steal, and two blocks in the loss. However, his 40-point outburst in the first leg of their back-to-back also shows his value to Mike Daigneault’s squad.

The league will have a deserving MVP, regardless of who wins. However, Nuggets fans can count on Nikola Jokic to make the voting process as difficult as possible.
