The Denver Nuggets emerged victorious, 127-117, in their Wednesday game against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Nuggets came off a loss against the Chicago Bulls on Monday. Adding another win to their record gives them a 46-28 record in the 2024-25 NBA season. One of the biggest reasons the Nuggets won the game was Nikola Jokic‘s impressive triple-double game.
Jokic ended the game with 39 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists on 64% shooting from the field. Michael Porter Jr. also had a great game offensively, with his 23 points on 6-for-8 shooting from beyond the arc. MPJ also had 10 boards, four dimes and three steals, which helped Denver overcome the challenge of playing against the Bucks.

During one play in the game, Jokic showcased his incredible vision. As he spun the basketball against forward Kyle Kuzma, forward Aaron Gordon took the open backdoor cut leading to an easy slam. The three-time MVP, however, added a bit of flair with how he gave up the ball.

An NBA legend has an issue with the Denver Nuggets star winning MVPs

Fans have realized Jokic’s greatness ever since he became a league star. Since being named an All-Star, he has won three MVP honors, and this season, he could earn his fourth. But not everyone has been thrilled with him taking home the prize.
Former NBA star Dwyane Wade talked about what is issues are with the Serbian big man winning MVP awards.
“And one thing I’ve had an issue with in the MVP race is that Jokic has been so amazing, but it’s probably been like two times where his team been in fifth,” “Wade said. “And I know that the Western Conference is a very challenging and tough league, but he’s been in fifth and he’s won MVP.”
In 2022, Jokic averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists, earning him his second MVP honor. It is important to note that the big man led Denver to a 48-34 record, good for sixth place in the Western Conference, even without the team’s second-best player, Jamal Murray.
