The Detroit Pistons are on the brink of qualifying for the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2018-19 season, and they have mainly Cade Cunningham to thank for that.

Fellow former top pick Zion Williamson believes Cunningham deserves plaudits for being at the center of the Detroit Pistons’ turnaround.
“I don’t think people are giving him his full respect,” Williamson said about Cunningham via Eric Woodyard of ESPN. “In my opinion, he’s an All-NBA player this year. He’s been doing his thing, but from watching Cade from afar and my few interactions with him, he’s somebody that’s gonna let his work speak for him.”

The former No. 1 pick is enjoying his most productive campaign in Detroit Pistons uniform, averaging 25.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 9.2 assists on 46.2 percent shooting from the field in 66 starts. Cunningham can become the first player since Jerry Stackhouse (29.8) to average at least 25 points per game in a season in 2000-01.
