The Detroit Pistons are preparing for a grand postseason return for the first time in six years. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff is proud of the team for buying into his system and trusting him to turn the team to a directionless franchise to one of the most fascinating watches on League Pass.
While the entire roster deserves their flowers, many Pistons faithful will praise Cade Cunningham for his impressive improvement under Bickerstaff. His performances this season triggered whispers of possible All-NBA honors, and he will be the key for Detroit’s postseason hopes.

While everyone agrees that Cunningham deserves all the flowers he’s getting, he suddenly got involved in a hilarious moment that involves Stephen A. Smith.
Stephen A. misnames Cade Cunningham and gets trolled

Smith is no stranger to viral moments, with the veteran sports media personality getting into it with the likes of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
However, it’s not only with all-time greats that Smith gets into an issue. During a social media post meant to praise a collegiate basketball player, he also misnamed the Oklahoma State standout in the process.
Per Larry Brown Sports’ Darryn Albert:
“Ladies and Gentlemen, just in case you did not know: this brother from @GatorsMBK, his name is Walter Clayton Jr, and he is something special,” Smith wrote. “This brother is the real deal. Reminds me of @DetroitPistons big time guard Wade Cunningham.”
It’s strange for Smith to make such a slip-up when he covers the NBA for a living. It’s not like a player who averages 25.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 9.2 assists a game would be easily forgotten.
However, that’s what the veteran analyst did. Fans didn’t let him off for his gaffe, going with memes and a shoutout to a retired race car driver to make fun of his error.
Cunningham believes he can become the best player with the Detroit Pistons

While Cunningham is not the most popular player in the association, he aspires to become an incredible player that not even SAS would call him by a different name.
He talked about his aspirations, as reported in a RealGM Wiretap piece:
“I think I can be the best basketball player in the world. I think I’m on my way,” Cunningham told ESPN about his ambitions. “I want people to understand that and that’s what I’m working to show people every time I play.”
If he manages to finish with an All-NBA season and lead Detroit to an unlikely Eastern Conference Finals appearance, he will be well on his way to basketball immortality.
