After losing their recent game, the Detroit Pistons’ Vegas dream for the NBA Cup saw its end of the road, while the Bucks got to advance further. While emotions can be understandably high at such a pivotal moment of the season, one fan took it a step further and gave the middle finger to the losing Pistons.
In an Instagram video, an enraged “fan” was shown giving the middle finger to Malik Beasley. The heckler then called out to Beasley, shouting at him.

“You suck,” the person shouted to Beasley. “You [alright],” the person pointed to point guard Jaden Ivey. “But you suck,” referring back again to Beasley.
During their game against the Bucks, Beasley struggled to find his rhythm and was certainly not at his best, as he only scored four points overall. He shot only 205% from the field and did not make any of his four three-point attempts.
Jaden Ivey, though scoring slightly better, also did not perform at his best compared to their other games. He scored only eight points, made 30% of his field goal shots, and 33.3% from beyond the arc.
The Detroit Pistons ultimately lost the game to the Bucks, with a final score of 128-107. The loss meant a lot to the team as it also ended their chances at the NBA Cup.
Detroit Pistons Losing NBA Cup Chance: “It Was a Great Opportunity”
Detroit Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff addressed the loss of the team and the end of the NBA Cup dream. Despite losing the chance to take home a half-a-million paycheck per player, Bickerstaff still considers the opportunity to reach where they got to as a “great experience.”
“It was a great opportunity, great experience for our guys,” Bickerstaff said. “This was the biggest game we’ve had and playing against a team that has champions on it, guys who’ve been through the fire before, understand what it takes to reach the next level. The NBA doesn’t let you skip steps.
He went on to cite how not everyone gets to their dreams and to their success right off the bat and promised that they would come back better and improved.
“All those guys in that locker room who had playoff success, they didn’t reach their goals (immediately), either,” he added. “They learned from it, got better from it. That’s what we have to do. You don’t know what it feels like until you go through it. Now we know what it feels like. The next time we go through it, we expect to be improved.”
So far, the Detroit Pistons have won three NBA Championships, with the most recent one from the 2003-2004 season against the Los Angeles Lakers.
