Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart was ejected from the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday at Target Center. Stewart wasn’t the only player involved in the intense altercation as some of his teammates and other players on the opposing team were also taken out of the game. Additionally, Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff and Wolves assistant coach Pablo Prigioni had to leave because of what happened.
It started after Ron Holland committed a shooting foul on forward Naz Reid, who drove to the basket to try a layup. Reid didn’t like the foul and turned to the youngster, pointing a finger at him while saying something. This led Donte DiVincenzo to back up his teammate and go chest-to-chest with the 19-year-old rookie.
Eventually, DiVo and Holland grabbed each other, which led their teammates to try and separate them from each other. However, the others joined in on the altercation and escalated the situation. Stewart and Marcus Sasser became part of the brawl.

After the review, officials ruled a handful of players and coaches to be ejected from the game. For the Pistons, referees had Stewart, Holland, Sasser and Bickerstaff kicked out of the game. For Minnesota, they had to eject Reid, DiVincenzo and Prigioni.
On his way to the locker room, Stewart arrogantly walked out of the court while pointing at the “Detroit” printed on his jersey.

A former executive brought up how the league could punish the Detroit Pistons big man

The Detroit Pistons big man has had his on-court problems due to his hot temper. It has gotten him into trouble, often getting a technical foul or an ejection. Heading into the game against Minnesota, he’s been ejected two times in the 2024-25 NBA season. Additionally, he’s been issued a technical foul 12 times and has had six flagrant fouls.
ESPN’s Bobby Marks raised the possibility that the 6-foot-8 frontcourt player would face consequences from the NBA due to his past.
“Considering Isaiah Stewart is a repeat offender, it will be interesting to see how severe the penalties the NBA hands down with him,” the former assistant general manager for the Brooklyn Nets posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Stewart has been suspended 6 games from prior incidents since coming into the league.”
