The Detroit Pistons are the NBA’s feel-good story for fans who want something different. While they aren’t huge favorites to make it out of the Eastern Conference, the quality of their play under J.B. Bickerstaff easily makes them one of the more exciting squads to catch on League Pass.
Cade Cunningham has done a fantastic job in leading a young but exciting team to their first winning season since the 2015-16 season. They have such a talented squad of ballers that the team is even being linked to one of their hometown heroes in the coming off-season.

While Motor City’s basketball fans are having the time of their lives at the moment, there’s reason to believe that the fun is just getting started for them.
The Detroit Pistons triple their win total from last season’s

Fans who don’t follow Pistons basketball religiously would remember the Pistons as constant lottery favorites over the past couple of seasons. It’s been more than 15 years since they made a deep post-season run, and last season only saw them win 14 games in total.
After a clear win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Pistons now have a 42-32 record. While their regular-season performances haven’t booked them a top spot in the East, it’s triple of the number of wins they had under Monty Williams last year.
Heavy Sports’ Reese Taylor explains how the team’s young core transformed the squad into an exciting group of ballers:
The Pistons have grown all season, led by All-NBA lock Cade Cunningham. Cunningham has evolved his game, becoming a nightly triple double threat and is 3rd in the NBA in assists. The young core features Jalen Duren, Jaden Ivey, and Ausar Thompson, who just last season had questions if they could play together. Teammates Malik Beasley, Dennis Schroeder, Tim Hardaway Jr, and Tobias Harris among others have provided leadership and consistency for the young team.
The combination of exciting young talent and proven veterans may not instantly turn the Pistons into a bona fide contender, but their trajectory is sky-high.
