New Indiana Fever team member DeWanna Bonner is in a culture shock of sorts as she experienced firsthand how the fan base of the Fever treats its players.
In a recent press interview, DeWanna Bonner shared the changes she had to dela with now that she is part of the Indiana Fever, this included the behavior of fnas, which is something she so fondly talked about.
“I mean, yeah, totally different, totally different atmosphere,” Bonner said. “The support here has just been phenomenal. I really can’t go anywhere. I’ve been here about a week and a half, and everywhere I go, it’s just like ‘we’re excited for the season, thank you for being here.’”
“So, it’s been really, really refreshing… Everywhere I go, I can’t even go to the grocery store without someone saying how excited they are. So, it’s just been really refreshing.”

DeWanna Bonner joined the Indiana Fever in February 2025, signing a one-year deal after spending five seasons with the Connecticut Sun. Her decision to join the Fever was driven by her desire to win another WNBA championship.
Bonner, a two-time champion and six-time All-Star, expressed that she wanted to bring her experience and leadership to a young Fever team that includes rising stars like Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell.

One of the key factors in Bonner’s decision to join Indiana was her familiarity with the coaching staff. She had previously played under Fever head coach Stephanie White during her time in Connecticut, and the presence of White, along with assistant coaches Austin Kelly and Keith Porter, made the transition seamless.

Indiana Fever star Catlin Clark recently expressed her strong desire to win a championship with the Fever for the 2025 season. More than any reason, Clark cited that she wanted to win one for veteran teammate DeWanna Bonner.
“She’s such a selfless leader,” Clark said in a recent interview. “She’s here to win. She says that, but she really means it,” Clark said of Bonner. “DB’s been tremendous, not only as a leader, she’s a tremendous basketball player, too. She’s won championships. She knows what it is.”
“For me, as a second-year point guard, I want to win for her. This is the end of her career, she deserves it.”
