The fact that President Donald Trump survived not only one but two attempts at his life is proof that he was “touched by God.” At least, this is what one former NBA player, who is also a Trump supporter, thinks of the matter.

In one of the recent episodes of “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” the ESPN analyst and broadcaster had former NBA player and now politician Rocye White as a guest. One of the topics they touched on was the recent assassination attempts on President Donald Trump.

For White, the fact that Trump survived both attempts is proof that God is with him.

“It needs to be more about ideas and less about the person,” White said, talking about the topic of MAGA supporters criticized for being seemingly more person-driven rather than policy-driven.

“Donald Trump, he did stand up when we needed him to, and he was touched by God, in my opinion,” he added. “Him not being assassinated that day, three bullets going by his face can’t be anything other than an act of God. If you deny that, then I don’t want to stand next to you, but you know what I’m saying.”

In 2022, Royce White ran in the Minnesota GOP primary for the U.S. House of Representatives, though he did not win. He later secured the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate in 2024, running against Democratic incumbent Amy Klobuchar. His campaign emphasized anti-establishment rhetoric, advocating for stronger national security, economic reforms, and mental health policies.

LOOK BACK: Donald Trump Survives Multiple Assassination Attempts

President Donald Trump survived two assassination attempts during his 2024 presidential campaign, showcasing resilience amid heightened political tensions. These incidents, occurring within a span of just over two months, have drawn significant attention as Trump continues his bid for re-election.

On July 13, 2024, at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a gunman unleashed eight bullets in under six seconds, narrowly missing a fatal strike as one grazed Trump’s ear. The shooter was killed by security forces at the scene, but the attack claimed the life of one attendee and left two others injured.

The second attempt occurred on September 15, 2024, at Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, where a 58-year-old suspect, Ryan Routh, was apprehended before he could act. Routh, spotted hiding in bushes with a scoped semiautomatic rifle roughly 400 yards from Trump, had allegedly made reconnaissance trips and attempted to purchase anti-aircraft weapons, indicating a premeditated plot.

Despite these threats, Donald Trump has pressed forward with his campaign, eventually winning the race, while authorities continued to probe both incidents for any broader conspiracies.
