President Donald Trump caught a stray comment from analyst and critic Skip Bayless, as the latter gave his honest take on the public image of the legendary NBA coach Gregg Popovich.
In one of his recent videos, Skip Bayless gave his honest commentary about retired San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, whom he called a “bully,” and likened to President Donald Trump.
“I was ashamed of my media brothers and sisters for letting him get away with constantly bullying media members, who ask legitimate questions in press conferences,” Skip said. “The media actually began to portray Popovich as a lovable grump. He was a monster created. Lovable? No, he wasn’t. He was exactly the kind of bully he always blasted Trump for being.”

Gregg Popovich officially announced his retirement after nearly three decades leading the franchise. Popovich, who holds the record for most wins in NBA history, stepped down due to health concerns, having suffered a mild stroke earlier in the season.
His longtime assistant, Mitch Johnson, was introduced as his successor, marking the beginning of a new era for the Spurs. Despite stepping away from coaching, Popovich will remain involved with the team as President of Basketball Operations, ensuring his influence continues within the organization.
In his first public appearance since retiring, Popovich embraced his new role with his signature humor, unveiling a custom black t-shirt that read “El Jefe”, which translates to “The Boss” in Spanish. Flanked by Spurs legends Tim Duncan and Manu Ginóbili, he removed his jacket to reveal the shirt, jokingly declaring, “I’m no longer coach. I’m El Jefe.”

Donald Trump Congratulates First-Ever American Pope
President Donald Trump extended his congratulations to Robert Francis Prevost, who was elected as the first American-born pope in the history of the Roman Catholic Church. Prevost, a Chicago native, will be known as Pope Leo XIV, marking a historic moment for the U.S.
Trump took to Truth Social to express his excitement, calling the election “such an honor” and emphasizing the significance of having an American pope.
“It is such an honor to realize that he is the first American Pope,” Trump wrote. “What excitement, and what a Great Honor for our Country. I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV. It will be a very meaningful moment!”
Despite Donald Trump’s warm remarks, Pope Leo XIV has previously expressed critical views on certain aspects of the Trump administration. A verified X account linked to the new pope shared an article in February, criticizing Vice President JD Vance over his interpretation of Jesus’ teachings.
