If the Republican Party as it is now did not have Donald Trump, then it would be a “Republican Party of George Bush,” at least this is what one former NBA player thought of the matter in his recent talk with Stephen A. Smith.
In one of the recent episodes of “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” former NBA player Rocye White gave his brutally honest description of the Republican Party without Donald Trump and the MAGA movement.
“Without a Donald Trump, the Republican party is the Republican party of George Bush. And there is no greater threat to freedom and American stability than the neocon warmongering of the George Bush types in the Republican party.”
Prior to this, White was asked where he would stand if the Republican party didn’t have Donald Trump and there is no MAGA movement, to which he had one answer: he would go independent.
“Well, without Donald Trump, I’d have to say I’d run independent or I would have tried to fight my way up to the top of the Democrat party and been smack down the way I think you may run into actually, in fact, if you run on the Democrat side,” White said, talking about Smith’s potential presidential bid.
However, White also acknowledges that being independent may not be the most advantageous position in politics.
“I’d have to say independent, and I probably would have had a very tough time winning as an independent in any office all across the country, because the party or the independent just doesn’t have that political power and machine and sort of tribalness to it.”

Donald Trump Defends Tariffs and Economic Worries
In a recent Meet the Press interview, President Donald Trump dismissed concerns about inflation, economic uncertainty, and the impact of his tariff policies on small businesses. Trump defended his approach, arguing that tariffs on Chinese goods would ultimately strengthen the U.S. economy despite initial price increases on consumer products.

Trump fielded questions about his political future, including speculation over a third presidential term, which he dismissed as unconstitutional but noted that “many people want him to do it.” He declined to name a single successor to his MAGA movement but hinted that Vice President JD Vance had an advantage.

As Donald Trump pushes forward with his economic and foreign policy agenda, he is betting that short-term financial struggles will lead to long-term national prosperity, despite sliding approval ratings and growing opposition from critics.
