Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has been named as one of the finalists for the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year award this season, and his wife, Hazel Renee, showed her support via a social media story.
In her Instagram story, Hazel Renee, wife of Warriors star Draymond Green, expressed her support for Green making the finalist list for the Defensive Player of the Year award. She shared a post celebrating Greren’s inclusion in the list.
Renee captioned her post in support of her husband: “A master at work✨”
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has also been supportive of Green winning the Defensive Player of the Year award. In a statement, Kerr expressed his feelings about why he thinks Green is the only winner of the award.
“Draymond is the Defensive Player of the Year,” Kerr said after Golden State’s regular-season finale. “I can’t imagine him not winning at this point, just what I witness every single night—the incredible versatility of his defensive game and how powerful his brain is. He’s an amazing player, and he’s had a great, great year, and I think he should win. I am a little biased.”

Draymond Green DPOY Finalist Inclusion Questioned By OKC Star
While his fans and family would naturally celebrate his conclusion as a finalist for the Defense Player of the Year award, Draymond Green got shade thrown at him by Oklahoma City Thunder star Isaiah Hartenstein, who expressed his honest thoughts on the list of finalists for the award.

In a press interview, Thunder star Isaiah Hartenstein said one of his teammates should be included in the list.
“I might need to get a podcast with Lu [Dort], maybe that,” Hartenstein told the press after the Thunder’s Game 1 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. “I mean, if you watched him all year, he’s been great. Just watching Lu do what he does, I think that’s what people don;t see and what the stats don’t show.”

Lu Dort is considered a strong candidate for Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) due to his exceptional perimeter defense and ability to shut down elite scorers. Known as the “Dorture Chamber,” he consistently limits opponents’ shooting efficiency and disrupts their offensive flow, making him a key anchor for the Oklahoma City Thunder’s top-ranked defense.

So far this season, Draymond Green has averaged 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game.
