After the game, former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins loved how aggressive Edwards was.
“He took it over,” Perk said. “We know that Anthony Edwards, he could go off for the monster nights offensively for as scoring the ball. I thought he did an excellent job of attacking and getting in the paint. I thought coach Finch did an excellent job of putting the pieces around him so that he could have spacing.”
The former member of the Boston Celtics also complimented Ant’s playmaking. Big Perk loved how Edwards had a healthy balance of aggressive scoring and facilitating to keep his teammates active. The 2008 champion had high praise for head coach Chris Finch. According to him, moving the duo of Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle helps the shooting guard to be more assertive in taking the ball to the rack instead of settling for long-range jumpers.
Minnesota’s next game will be on Tuesday, against the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center. The team will take a day off before finishing their two-game road trip against the Orlando Magic.
