LSU Tigers star Flau’Jae Johnson had a simple but perfect reaction to the remark about her and Chicago Sky star Angel Reese being “bad girls” of women’s basketball.
Flau’Jae Johnson showed her confusion after former NFL star Cam Newton labeled her as a “bad girl” in one of the recent episodes of his podcast.
“Wait what ?😭” was all she could say in her post on X.

The former NFL star remarked that the reason why college stars like USC’s JuJu Watkins and UConn’s Paige Bueckers do not get the same attention as Catilin Clark did, despite being better athletes in his opinion, that they are too much of “good girls.”
“Caitlin Clark was a good girl,” Newton said. “Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson, they embraced [being] the ‘bad girl.'”
Why isn’t JuJu Watkins getting the same media love as Caitlin Clark?@CameronNewton thinks she’s actually the better player — but she’s missing one thing: a rivalry the media can obsess over pic.twitter.com/ELJJ9L5Orw

The remark left not only Johnson herself but also Tigers fans confused. Angel Reese had gone on record as “accepting” the “villain” role, but Johnson had never given out any statements similar to it.

Flau’Jae Johnson “Haven’t Really Thought” of WNBA Draft
Flau’Jae Johnson’s season with the LSU Tigers is soon coming to an end, regardless of what the ultimate outcome of their March Madness run would be. After that, she has two options: to go to the pros and participate in the WNBA draft, or play one more season with the LSU Tigers.

In an interview, Johnson admitted to not having a decision for his next career steps yet.
“I haven’t really thought about the draft,” Johnson told The Advocate on Sunday. “Kind of just focusing on trying to win this championship. I’m just waiting on God to tell me what to do, for real. I haven’t really thought about it.”

Johnson has the option to play one more year of college basketball. Although she is currently a junior at LSU and eligible for the 2025 WNBA Draft due to turning 22 this year, she still has one year of NCAA eligibility remaining. This is because NCAA rules allow players to compete for four full seasons, and Johnson has not yet exhausted her eligibility. If she chooses to stay, she can continue to play for LSU for another season before pursuing a professional career.
“It’s a lot of factors,” Johnson said. “A lot of family factors. But like I said, it’s gonna come time to make a decision.”
So far this season, Flau’Jae Johnson has averaged 19.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. Her shooting efficiency was impressive, with a 46.9% field goal percentage and an 80.0% free throw percentage.
