The Big 3 experiment of the Phoenix Suns has not given the franchise a beneficial result. This has led to multiple trade rumors (mostly about Bradley Beal) that could potentially break up the star trio. However, recent trade talks have revealed the Suns’ interest in moving Kevin Durant ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
Durant has been rumored to be an asset Phoenix is willing to trade to try and acquire Miami Heat’s frustrated star, Jimmy Butler. However, Charania confirmed that Butler was traded to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. This move has shut down the chance for the Suns to acquire the six-time All-Star.

Udonis Haslem, a former Heat player, spoke on the Suns’ situation the same day. He believes that trading Durant is the wisest course of action for the club going ahead since it hasn’t realized its full potential. Haslem said that dealing the two-time champion is the most sensible course of action because Bradley Beal’s contract contains a no-trade provision that makes him impossible to move and Devin Booker is untouchable.
“When I was in Miami, we had a Big 3,” Haslem said. “The brotherhood that we had, we played for each other and we understood that if we did not win, they were gonna break us up. That is what it is with a Big 3. We did not put a Big 3 together to be in ninth place, you put a Big 3 together to be in the championship and to have championship expectations.
“With that being said, you can’t move Bradley Beal, D-Book is untouchable, the next man in line that has value and can help move the needle a little bit is Kevin Durant. That’s the only guy you have that can bring a little bit of value to your team. Are you gonna get Durant’s value back right away? No. But what you do know is that Big 3 is not working.”
