The Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Boston Celtics 119-108 on Monday, dropping Giannis Antetokounmpo and his crew to a 1-3 record. The Bucks have struggled to gain a winning momentum at the start of the 2024-25 NBA season. The last time the team won was against the Philadelphia 76ers, on Oct. 23.
Milwaukee lost to a Chicago Bulls team, where they allowed Zach LaVine to have a 25-point outing. The Bucks also couldn’t stop Coby White, who finished the game with 35 points on 7-for-13 shooting from beyond the arc.
After that, Giannis and his squad struggled to contain the Brooklyn Nets. Cam Thomas was too much for the Bucks, as he went off for 32 points, five rebounds and two steals. If that wasn’t enough, Nets guard Dennis Schroder added 29 points, four rebounds and six assists.
On Monday, they faced against the defending NBA champions, who played a better brand of basketball than them. Celtics‘ Jaylen Brown finished the night with 30 points and six rebounds. Payton Pritchard also torched the Bucks’ defense, scoring 28 points on 8-for-12 shooting from beyond the arc off the bench.
Even with an underwhelming start to the year, the Greek Freak remains optimistic about the team’s approach this season.
“Even if we sucked, if we were very very bad, it is the fourth game of the season, you have to be optimistic. This is the job that we are in,” Antetokounmpo said. “We have a great team. I believe we will keep on playing better, learning from our mistakes. Eventually, we are going to start winning games.
“I do not care about the record. I care about keep on building, people being healthy, and get where we want to get.”

The next game for the Bucks is on Thursday, against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Giannis Antetokounmpo loves having Rajon Rondo around
Before the season started, the Bucks introduced Rajon Rondo as their guest coach. The former NBA player was present during the team’s training camp and the stars benefitted from having him around. Following their loss against Boston, Giannis Antetokounmpo talked about how he loved having the two-time champion around.
“It’s incredible,” Antetokounmpo said about having Rondo with the Bucks’ coaching staff. “It’s great for our team. We had the opportunity to watch some film with him. He comes in to talk to me and Dame. But not just me and Dame, for the rest of the team. He knows how to win. He’s won two championships, he knows how to play the right way and he’s somebody that has done it and is somebody that keeps us accountable every single day.”
During Rondo’s playing days, he was regarded as one of the smartest players on the court. With his guest appearance for the Bucks, he might hint at taking a head coaching job in the future.
