Giannis Antetokounmpo Places Million-Dollar Bid On Rare Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant Olympics Basketball Card

Giannis Antetokounmpo is willing to spend up to a million dollars to own an ultra-rare trading card. It features the pictures and signatures of LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant, the superstar trio that led the USA men’s national basketball team to their fifth-straight Olympic gold medal victory.

Giannis immediately called dibs as soon as card trading company Topps announced that it would be releasing the only available piece. The card was bound to attract attention due to its value and the iconic history depicted in it.

Sports Illustrated reported that the Milwaukee Bucks star initially offered $150,000 for the card, but another sports card collector bid higher for it. Antetokounmpo then raised his offer to $250,000.

The card’s price is currently at $500,000, and according to Instagram user “thebuckszone,” Giannis is ready to pay a million for it. He previously said he was willing to pay the double of the highest bid for the card.

Last year, Giannis Antetokounmpo signed a three-year, $186 million contract with the Bucks, which will earn him a salary of almost $60 million from the 2025-26 season. Given how much he earns from his salary and endorsement deals, it’s not impossible for him to pay a million for the commemorative card.

James, Curry, and Durant have never played together as teammates in the NBA nor in the Olympics until the most recent one in Paris, making their first time together one of the most iconic moments in American basketball history.

Golden State should trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, says Paul Pierce

NBA legend Paul Pierce suggested that the Golden State Warriors should trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo if they want to be champions once more.

Golden State dominated most of the last decade with their quartet of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant. However, things changed when Durant went to the Brooklyn Nets after the 2018-19 season.

Curry and the Warriors won their fourth championship in 2022, but they weren’t as dominant as before. Then they failed to make the playoffs last season, and they also lost Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks in the offseason.

Pierce was a guest on fellow NBA legend Kevin Garnett’s podcast, “KG Certified,” where he said acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo was the only way the Warriors could win another NBA title.

“The only way I see Golden State getting back to where they need to get back to is if they can find a way to get Giannis over there,” Pierce told Garnett.

However, with Giannis Antetokounmpo signing an extension contract with the Bucks, it seems like the Greek-Nigerian star isn’t ready to go anywhere. However, if Milwaukee doesn’t increase its chances of winning a title, then the reality of Giannis moving somewhere else shouldn’t surprise anyone.
