On Tuesday, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo’s playoff exit to the Indiana Pacers drew headlines after a heated confrontation with Tyrese Haliburton’s father, John.

After the match, John immediately went to Giannis Antetokounmpo and exchanged heated words before the authorities separated them.

The incident prompted a response from former Bucks player Thanasis Antetokounmpo, who criticized John for overshadowing his son’s win by starting the altercation.

“You run on to the court, and instead of going to your son, you go to Giannis and start cussin’ and disrespecting,” Thanasis said.

“So Giannis losing is more important than your son’s game winner?”

The Bucks had a tight match against the Pacers, even leading to overtime after a missed shot from Antetokounmpo. However, Haliburton, who delivered throughout the game, made a buzzer-beater layup that secured his team’s 119-118 victory, winning the series against Milwaukee 4-1.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had impressive playoff stats: 33.0 points, 6.6 assists, and 15.4 boards. However, the loss of star Damian Lillard and the Pacers’ plays heavily impacted the Bucks, leading to their first-round loss.

Haliburton did express disappointment at his father’s conduct.

“I don’t think that my pops was in the right at all there,” the Pacers star said during the post-game interview.

Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo reflected on the incident, expressing disappointment over John and emphasizing humility.

“All I’ll say is that I believe in being humble in victory,” Antetokounmpo said. “I feel like that’s very, very disrespectful.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks meet to discuss on future

After a heartbreaking five-game playoff loss against the Indiana Pacers, Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s future with the Milwaukee Bucks becomes dimmer. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania and Jamal Collier, Antetokounmpo will meet with the Bucks to discuss their future.

Indiana drew first blood, winning their first two games in massive leads. While the Bucks managed to win Game 3, things drastically changed when Damian Lillard had a season-ending Achilles injury in Game 4.

Milwaukee tried to fight back, with Gary Trent Jr. scoring 33 points in Game 5, only to lose against Tyrese Haliburton’s buzzer-beater layup.

Collier clarified that the meeting between Giannis Antetokoumpo and the Bucks happens annually. Still, this year’s “carries a different tone” due to the first-round loss, even with their healthy star having impressive plays.

Antetokounmpo himself ached with the early exit.

“It doesn’t feel good, man,” he said during the Game 5 post-game interview. “It doesn’t feel good. I just got to look myself in the mirror and I just have to be better. I have to be better.”

Whether Giannis Antetokoumpo will stay at the Bucks or leave is still a lingering question. Many teams are currently trying to obtain him. If he stays, Milwaukee must do something to support their star player.
