Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas poked fun at his son Alijah’s expense after he identified his top five NBA players to watch on his father’s podcast, “Gil’s Arena.” After Gilbert’s co-host Josiah Johnson asked the young shooting guard to name his top five NBA players, the three-time NBA All-Star found an opportunity to make fun of his son.
Johnson knew that Alijah’s favorite NBA player was James Harden, but when he asked who his other favorite players were, the rising star from Chatsworth High School repeated Harden’s name “at one.” As a result, his father roasted his son for his fascination for the LA Clippers star.
“He’s a Harden sexual,” Gilbert hilariously told Johnson in the middle as Alijah was thinking of other names to put in the list.

Alijah also named LeBron James, Trae Young, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry in his top five players. Then when Johnson asked if Alijah watches Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the 17-year-old revised his list to just three.
“Harden, Shai, LeBron,” he said flusteredly. “No more questions.”
Gilbert Arenas’ son is now one of the most-followed athletes on social media
Alijah Arenas, the shooting guard for Chatsworth High School and former NBA player Gilbert Arenas’ son, is now one of the most followed high school athletes on social media. He recently hit 100,000 followers on Instagram.
The 17-year-old rising star took a screenshot of the milestone and shared it with the caption, “Blessed.”
Alijah is one of four children born to Gilbert Arenas and Laura Govan, whom the former NBA player dated from 2002 to 2014. He is a five-star prospect in the class of 2026. Last month, he expressed his desire to push up his graduation date to reclassify into the class of 2025.
Touted as one of the most talented high school basketball players in America, Alijah participated at the Real Run Showcase on Saturday, where he went up against some of the country’s best high school players and scored 40 points.

Turning 18 in March, Alijah is now approaching his college years. As of last month, Gilbert Arenas’ son had gotten offers from multiple universities, including Alabama, California, Arizona, Arizona State, and Fresno State.
Whichever university he ends up committing to, it will be a step closer toward his aspirations to play in the NBA just like his father. At 6-foot-6 and 197 pounds, his star might shine as bright as his All-Star father did in his prime.
