The Phoenix Suns are off to a strong start this season with a 6-1 record in the Western Conference. Compared to their start during the 2023-24 NBA season, the Suns have performed better in their first seven games of the year. Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas spoke highly of his expectations for Phoenix and their Big 3.
The team’s goal this season has not changed and has set their eyes on winning the championship. The second-placed West team is currently on a five-game winning streak. The Suns look to extend their streak to six on Wednesday against the Miami Heat.
The biggest difference for Phoenix this season is the availability of their Big 3 this year. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker have remained healthy, appearing in all of their seven games despite their full participation at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Bradley Beal, on the other hand, has only missed two games and has averaged more than 30 minutes in his four-game appearance.
With the way they’ve approached their new campaign, Arenas has high hopes for the team. The former All-Star guard spoke highly of the potential dominance the Suns’ Big 3 could display this year.
“The fact that they are together, you can expect that they’re going to be dominant,” Arenas said. “All three of them don’t need to be dominant all at the same time to win games. They can be one and a half, two and a half, that’s how much talent they have.”
“If Kevin Durant ain’t carrying it, Booker can carry it. If Booker can’t carry it, we already know Beal led the league in scoring before, so he can carry it. They got three guys who can do the same job if need be.”

All three players have performed well in the scoring department. Durant leads all scorers with 27.1 a game, while Booker has averaged 24.7 points. Beal isn’t far behind and has put up 17.2 points on 43.8% shooting from beyond the arc.
Phoenix Suns star will play Wednesday’s game against the Heat
Beal was listed as probable ahead of their Wednesday match against the Heat due to a right elbow sprain. Fortunately for the Phoenix Suns, they’ve removed the All-Star guard from the injury report and will play against Miami. On Monday, the starting guard said that he’s willing to play through injury.
“A lot of people that know me know that I’m going to compete and play through anything,” Beal said. “If it ain’t broke, I’m gonna try to get out there and play through it.”
