The return of Jimmy Butler to his old stomping grounds on Tuesday night did not give him and the Golden State Warriors their desired results.
With the Warriors missing the services of Stephen Curry for the second game in a row because of a pelvis issue, Golden State fell prey at the hands of the Miami Heat in South Beach via a score of 112-86.
Miami simply outclassed the Warriors. And for Butler, who scored just 11 points on 5-for-12 shooting from the floor in 29 minutes of action, the answer to Golden State’s malaise is easy – but unavailable at the moment.
Via Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press:
“We definitely need 30 back,” Butler said, referring to Curry by his jersey number. “We want him to be right. We’re still expected to put up a better effort than we put up the last two games. But if he’s back, I think it’s going to be different.”
The Golden State Warriors are missing Stephen Curry

At 37 years old, Curry is still the Warriors’ best player. His absence means that Golden State is operating without an all-time floor stretcher, not to mention history’s greatest shooter.
Without Curry on the floor, the Warriors’ effective field goal percentage is 6.7 percent worse than when he’s on the court.
Hopefully for the Warriors, Curry will be able to make his way back into the lineup sooner rather than later, especially with Golden State still fighting for a spot in the top six of the Western Conference standings.
