Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green made headlines on Tuesday night after he came up with a huge game-sealing block in their crucial 104-100 victory over Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. Green stuffed a Daniel Gafford attempt with a minute and a half remaining in the fourth quarter, which pretty much put an end to Dallas’ attempt to come back and steal away a victory.
According to Warriors veteran Chris Paul, this was one of the best defensive plays he’s seen in his entire career.
Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green Speaks Out on Massive Block
Green came up with arguably the biggest play of the game on Tuesday after denying Gafford an opportunity to cut the Warriors’ lead to just four points. Thanks to his heroic defensive stop, Golden State was able to maintain a six-point advantage and go on to win the game.

This was an absolute heads-up play by Green, who for his part, has had his share of forgettable moments for his team throughout the season. Well, plays like this serve as a reminder as to how important the former Defensive Player of the Year remains to be for the Dubs.
Green graciously took us through his entire thought process during this game-sealing play. The four-time All-Star detailed exactly what was going through his mind at that point in the game.
Anyone who’s looking to improve on their own defensive skills should listen intently to what Draymond has to say here:
“Tough play there. When you got Kyrie Irving coming downhill at you, it’s a scary sight. … Kyrie has every shot in basketball,” Green said. “… Daniel Gafford’s a 69% free-throw shooter. He’s not 90 (percent) like Kyrie Irving. My mindset right there is I’m helping on Kyrie and giving this drop off up to Daniel Gafford.”
Love him or hate him, there’s no denying that Green’s basketball IQ is off the charts.
