Draymond Green couldn’t lead the Golden State Warriors past the Houston Rockets in Game 2 of their first-round series. The Rockets protected their home court with a 109-94 victory and tied the series at one game apiece. During the first quarter, fans got into it with Green after he got tangled up with Amen Thompson. This led to the youngster being positioned underneath Golden State’s Jimmy Butler and suffering a hard fall.
Aside from that, Green got into a shoving match with Houston’s Tari Eason during a jumpball. Because of the physicality of the game, where the four-time champion was highlighted, fans didn’t hold back and began an NSFW chant. The fans rocked the entire Toyota Center with “F**k you, Draymond” chants.

This isn’t Green’s first rodeo, as other fans of opposing teams have heckled him before.

After the game, Green was nonchalant when he revealed what he felt about the chants from the Rockets fans.
“It’s not original,” Green said. “Been there before, won a championship while it’s happening. It’s not really an original… can’t steal other people’s s**t. That belongs to Boston. I kinda just kept pushing.
Golden State’s head coach, Steve Kerr, talked bout the chant after the game. Kerr called out the fans and said he hopes to see discretion from them moving forward.
“I would prefer if fans could use a little more discretion, remember that the guy has kids,” Kerr said. “I don’t know, maybe I’m old school. I’m all for fans cheering for their team and if they want to yell at the opponents, great, but I just think ‘FU’ is a little much.”
In 2022, the Boston Celtics crowd had the same chant at the TD Garden. In Game 3, the fans did the chant three times in a 116-100 loss for the Warriors.
Draymond Green makes history for the Golden State Warriors in Game 2

Draymond Green has always been one of the best defenders in the league. Since he was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2012, he’s shown how smart of a player he is defensively, Green has won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2017. Additionally, the forward has been selected five times as part of the All-Defensive team in the NBA.
In Game 2, he proved how much of a force he is defensively. He moved up to the 20th spot in the all-time playoff steals list. Throughout his career, Green has stolen the ball 246 times. He’s now in the top 20, joining players like LeBron James, John Stockton and Michael Jordan.
In Game 3, the Golden State Warriors need Green to do his best defensively and protect their home court.
