Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green picked up his fifth technical during the team’s 117-93 Game 2 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday.

The one-time Defensive Player of the Year was whistled for his fifth tech for swinging at Naz Reid with 8:46 left in the second quarter. Green resented the referee’s call and had to be restrained by teammates Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry.
Green finished the night with nine points, four rebounds, and five assists on 3-for-10 shooting in 29 minutes. With Curry out at least one week due to a hamstring injury, Green’s presence is more vital than ever for the Golden State Warriors. The mercurial forward is two techs away from a one-game suspension.

Jonathan Kuminga was the Dubs’ top scorer with 18 points and five rebounds on 8-for-11 shooting from the field. Jimmy Butler, Buddy Hield, Trayce Jackson-Davis, and Brandin Podziemski added 17, 15, 15, and 11 points in the blowout defeat.
Golden State Warriors News: Steve Kerr sends clear message to Draymond Green after Game 2
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told Draymond Green to be “careful” after he picked up his fifth technical in the 2025 NBA playoffs.

“He’s gonna have to be careful now,” Kerr said via 95.7 The Game. “It’s part of Draymond. The same thing that makes him such a competitor and winner puts him over the top sometimes. We know that. It’s our job to try and help him stay poised… Occasionally, he goes over the line.”
With the series tied at 1-1, Golden State will head back to Chase Center for Game 3 on Saturday, looking to take a 2-1 series lead over Minnesota.
