Longstanding Golden State Warriors fans remember when DeMarcus Cousins joined them to help complete their three-peat. The big, who now plies his trade out of the league, was supposed to become the X factor that would help the Dubs secure their third title and secure their position as one of the most dominant dynasties in the league.
However, the Dubs’ dynastic run ended when Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson were injured and the Warriors eventually lost to the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 Finals. While plenty of things have happened to the Dubs since then, some would still look back to what would have been if the Warriors were fully healthy then.
While the Dubs are focused on preparing for next season, Draymond Green looked back to that point in time and recalled a hilarious incident that involved Boogie.
Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins recalled their conversation about passion during their time together with the Golden State Warriors
During a recent The Draymond Green Show episode where Cousins was the featured guest, the two basketball stars talked about their on-court attitudes and how it was perceived by fans.
Per The Cold Wire’s Brandon Marcus:
According to a video shared by The Volume, Cousins told Green that “passion” and “attitude” are very similar and can be misunderstood.
He claimed that Green was said to have passion while it was claimed that he only had attitude.
But Cousins thinks that is simply because he wasn’t winning nearly as often as Green was.
If Cousins had a winning record like Green, no one would have been claiming he had an attitude.
Both Green and Cousins are known as players who aren’t shy about expressing themselves on the hardwood. While Cousins was an outstanding big during the peak of his powers, he failed to make any meaningful playoff runs as the star man.
Meanwhile, Green was one of the most important players for the Dubs dynasty. His defensive prowess and playmaking proved to be vital for the Warriors’ multiple championships.
The conversation these two engaged in placed a spotlight on an intriguing topic. While both players are talented ballers, it cannot be denied that championships influence how a certain player is perceived.
