The NBA playoffs are about to approach their climax as the Boston Celtics are gearing up to face the Dallas Mavericks. While the C’s are tipped as heavy favorites to win their first Larry O’Brien trophy since 2008, the series is far from called as the Mavericks have the potential to pull off what the Golden State Warriors did in 2022.
While the two squads prepare for the Finals, the Dubs are in flux. No one’s sure how the team would look like by the start of the 2023-24 season, as the future of players like Klay Thompson and Draymond Green still up in the air.

Until any significant changes happen, Green has been spending time with the Inside the NBA crew in covering the playoffs. While some may question why a current player like him is part of the team, it’s clear that he’s bringing attention to the show as its future is still up in the air.
However, the attention Green is giving the show isn’t entirely positive, as a good number of players have opted out of appearing on the show because of him.
Minnesota Timberwolves players boycott Inside the NBA because of Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green

To say the Minnesota Timberwolves fell flat in the Western Conference Finals is an understatement. While the games were fairly close, they weren’t able to seriously challenge the Dallas Mavericks in any serious way as the series ended in five.
Green hasn’t been shy about his criticisms of Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, and he cost the legendary show appearances from any player in the Minnesota roster.
The Spun’s Andrew Holleran provided more context to the situation:
Edwards was surrounded by a tight-knit team, one with such strong chemistry that it decided as a group that no player would appear on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” postgame show after their victory in Game 4 in Dallas, team sources told The Athletic. The decision was a sign of support for Gobert and Towns, who were the subject of derisive and seemingly personal criticism from panelist and Golden State forward Draymond Green.
The optics aren’t looking good for either party. Some may see the Timberwolves as being overly sensitive against a player long known to be polarizing.
However, the fact that Inside the NBA let an active player be a part of the panel is also questionable. Since he’s still playing, it’s not strange for Green to have such scathing takes on other players.

It may make sense for the Timberwolves to feel slighted when a player who barely made any impact during their play-in tournament is saying unseemly stuff about them.
Green will likely still be on the team during the Finals, so it will be interesting to see what the outspoken forward says about the remaining teams in contention.
