Depending on who you ask, Kevin Durant’s time with the Golden State Warriors is one marked with glory or missed opportunities.
While it’s true that Durant won two championships during his stint with the Dubs, many also saw it as the Slim Reaper taking the easy way out by piggybacking on a 73-9 team that was one win away from winning a second-straight title.

He’s since moved on to try and win a ring that he can undeniably claim as his own. However, his stints with the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns haven’t resulted in any sort of silverware that he can claim as his own.
While Durant looks to continue his chase for his third ring with the Suns next season, he’s not averse to talking about his time at the Bay with Stephen Curry and company. He even snapped back at a former NFL great who made a ridiculous claim about his time with the Dubs.
Kevin Durant snaps at Keyshawn Johnson for thinking Paul Pierce could do his job with the Golden State Warriors

Former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson shared on Undisputed that while Durant was a terrific guard for the Warriors, a offensive-minded forward like Paul Pierce could have easily done the job.
Durant took offense to the hot take and immediately fired a response towards Johnson, per Fadeaway World’s Gautam Varier:
When Durant got wind of those comments, the Phoenix Suns superstar fired a shot at Johnson.
“If the Jets would’ve took Jonathan Ogden, Marvin Harrison, Ray Lewis, or Eddie George number 1 they would’ve been better off……I hate hypotheticals.”
Johnson had a successful NFL career who first started his career with the New York Jets before eventually winning his only Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002. Durant’s statement was meant to hit him where it hurts after mentioning some of the most outstanding players from his class.

Moreover, Durant had a solid stint with the Warriors. During his three years at the Bay, he averaged 25.8 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 5.4 APG, and 1.5 BPG. While The Truth could have matched his numbers if he were in his prime, it’s clear that no one could replicate the things Durant did with the Dubs that easily.
