Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry showed some fire and perhaps surprised many people when he did not back down during a heated moment on Saturday night with Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart.
With 6:50 remaining in the fourth quarter of the contest at Chase Center in San Francisco, Stewart appeared to push Curry, who then went face to face with the Pistons center.
The two players each got slapped with a technical foul for that commotion, with Curry getting just his first of the 2024-25 NBA season — and only his 28th in the regular season since he entered the league in 2009.
Draymond Green, whose technical foul resume in the NBA dwarfs that of Curry’s, shared his thoughts about the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player getting a tech against the Pistons.
Via Warriors on NBC Sports Bay Area:
“I mean, you get pushed on the sideline — I actually didn’t see it until I saw the replay,” Green told Kerith Burke, Kylen Mills and Zena Keita on “Warriors Postgame Live” after Golden State’s 115-110 victory over the Detroit Pistons at Chase Center. “But, you get pushed on the sideline — I think everybody always tries to mistake [Curry] for some soft guy. [He’s] never backing down from anybody. So, I love to see it.
“I wish he’d get a few more.”

Draymond Green steps up for the Golden State Warriors against the Pistons

Green got plenty of attention with his solid night at home, dropping 12 points with nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals and a block in 31 minutes.
He also hit a huge go-ahead bucket from behind the arc with 35 seconds left in regulation. In addition, the former Michigan State Spartans star managed to go up to the No. 2 spot on the Warriors’ all-time assists lists during the contest, passing former San Francisco Warriors point guard Guy Rodgers.
On the season, the 35-year-old Green is averaging 9.0 points, 6.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds per contest for the Warriors, who will next hose the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night.
