Golden State Warriors news: The recently concluded 2024 NBA Draft should prove beneficial for every single team in the league. Naturally, some teams will be impacted more significantly than others.
For Warriors star Draymond Green, there is one team in particular that he believes won big in the draft.
Golden State Warriors News: Draymond Green Declares Timberwolves as Winners of the Draft
According to Green, there’s a simple reason as to why he firmly believes the Minnesota Timberwolves have taken a significant step forward after draft night. In his mind, Green is adamant that the Wolves scooping up Rob Dillingham is going to be a franchise-altering move for them:
“The Minnesota Timberwolves won the draft because they drafted their point guard of the future, Rob Dillingham, who I think is a very special player,” Green said.
For their part, the Wolves proved just how much they wanted Dillingham by trading up to secure the former Kentucky standout at the No. 8 overall pick. Minnesota sent a future first-round pick and a future pick swap to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for the fiery point guard.
Green then went on to explain his stance. The former Defensive Player of the Year described Dillingham as a player with a lot of “swag.” According to Green, the 19-year-old’s flamboyant personality may have scared off a few teams at the top of the draft — a decision that Draymond believes these said teams will live to regret in the not-so-distant future.
“There’s gonna be some teams that’s gonna regret passing Rob Dillingham,” he said.
