Veteran NBA guard Seth Curry, brother of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, will have to find work somewhere else after he got waived by the Charlotte Hornets, as reported on Friday by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
ESPN Sources: The Charlotte Hornets are waiving guard Seth Curry but interest exists on both sides to keep talking on a new deal in July free agency. Team had a deadline today on guaranteeing Curry’s contract for the 2024-2025 season.
Seth spent just half a season (2023-24) with the Hornets and during his time in Charlotte, he played in only eight games and averaged 9.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists while shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from deep. He was traded by the Dallas Mavericks to the Hornets along with Grant Williams last February as part of a deal that netted the Mavs a package that included P.J. Washington.
Overall in the 2023-24 NBA campaign, Seth averaged 5.1 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists through 44 games. He connected on 39.2 percent of his field goal attempts and 35.2 percent of his 3-point tries.
Almost immediately after the news of Seth’s release from the Hornets broke, fans online wondered about the potential of Seth and Stephen wearing Dubs uniform in the coming 2024-25 season.
