Golden State Warriors news: For the second time in their first eight games of the season, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever suffered a staggering 36-point loss. This is after they were utterly destroyed by Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty on Sunday night, 104-68.

Incidentally, it was also the Liberty who defeated the Fever in a 36-point blowout earlier this season, 102-66. In two games played, New York has a 72-point advantage over a hapless Indiana side.

After Sunday’s loss, the Fever are now 2-8. At this point, it has become abundantly clear that Clark will not be able to carry this team by herself. This is exactly why Warriors star Draymond Green has come out with a stern warning for Indiana about getting their rookie sensation some much-needed help at the soonest possible time:

“Indiana better go invest in an enforcer… FAST!” Green wrote.

Green wants the Fever to bring in a player who has a strong physical presence — one who can protect Clark from the blatant physical abuse she’s been receiving in what has been a roller-coaster debut campaign.

Green’s comments actually came in the wake of the Fever’s hard-fought 71-70 win against the Chicago Sky on Saturday. In that game, Clark took a huge hit from Sky guard Chennedy Carter, which was later upgraded to a Flagrant 1:

For his part, Green would have never let an opposing player get away with those types of antics against his own Warriors teammate. This is exactly why he’s imploring the Fever to get some muscle to protect their prized superstar.
