At this point in his career, it’s hard to deny that Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has earned the reputation of being one of the toughest guys in the league. However, even the former Defensive Player of the Year himself will be the first to admit that he’s not the most feared dude in the NBA.
In Green’s mind, this honor belongs to the one and only James Johnson.
Golden State Warriors News: Draymond Green Sheds Light on James Johnson’s Reputation
Green recently guested one-time NBA champion Jeff Teague on The Draymond Green Show. The pair discussed the type of reputation Johnson carries, which according to Teague, goes all the way back to their time together as college teammates at Wake Forest.
Green could not agree more with how much Johnson is feared in the NBA. In fact, the Warriors veteran himself shared his own experience of playing against the 6-foot-7 power forward.
“James Johnson, probably the most feared guy in the NBA,” Green said. “… I know what he does for the team because playing against them young dudes, the demeanor they carry, ‘Y’all ain’t gonna do nothing.’ It allows them to just ball.”
"You're about to go fight? For money? Oh hell I'm not f****** with this dude" 🤣

Green is not the type to be messed with (you can ask Jordan Poole) and for him to have this type of respect for Johnson says a lot.
Johnson, 37, is far from being a superstar. In fact, he’s spent most of his time sitting on the Indiana Pacers bench these past couple of seasons. However, based on everything we know about him, it is clear why Johnson remains to be one of the most important players on the roster.
