Draymond Green has been vocal about Klay Thompson‘s Golden State Warriors exit. While the former Defensive Player of the Year has admitted to feeling saddened by his teammate of 12 years deciding to join the Dallas Mavericks, Green has also acknowledged that moving on was the best thing for Thompson.
Draymond doubled down on these sentiments in a recent impromptu interview, which also included a heartbreaking confession from the four-time All-Star.

According to Green, the entire situation hasn’t really sunk in for him yet. In fact, he’s actively gone out of his way to avoid getting into his feelings:
“It’s a classic tale of suppressing your emotions,” Green said. “I haven’t allowed myself to really process it. I feel like I will face it when I have to… Nonetheless, I’m happy for Klay.”

Green made his statement with a smile on his face, but you can tell that he’s hurting. He’s putting on a brave face, but as he said, he will need to come to terms with reality sooner or later.
We always say that the NBA is a business and that players should understand that moving on is all part of it. That is obviously easier said than done — especially when it comes to teammates who’ve been to war and back.
