Even after winning four championships in the NBA, there’s still something epic about winning a gold medal in the Olympics for Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry. As it stands, the point guard explained why this victory stands out from the rest of his accomplishments.
Team USA won the Olympic gold medal in thrilling fashion, defeating France with a score of 98-87 in the men’s basketball final at the Paris Games. Curry’ clutch performance, including four 3-pointers in the final minutes, sealed the victory for the Americans.
The game was a nail-biter, with France keeping it close throughout. However, Curry’s offensive explosion in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference-maker. He finished with 24 points and eight 3-pointers, including the game-sealing shots that put the U.S. up 93-84 with just over a minute remaining.
Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and LeBron James also made significant contributions to the U.S. victory. For James, this marked his fourth Olympic medal and third gold, cementing his status as one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
The win marked the fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal for the U.S. men’s basketball team, and their 17th in 20 all-time appearances at the Games. Despite France’s valiant effort, led by Victor Wembanyama’s impressive 26-point performance, the Americans’ experience and clutch shooting proved too much to overcome.
Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry Explains Why Winning Olympic Gold Is Special For Him

Apart from being an Olympic gold medalist, Curry is also a four-time NBA champion, two-time NBA MVP, 10-time NBA All-Star, and has won numerous other accolades including the NBA Finals MVP, NBA All-Star Game MVP, and NBA Clutch Player of the Year. He holds several NBA records, including the most 3-pointers made in a season and career.
With a gold medal now in his impressive list of accomplishments, there’s no denying how great Curry has been. For sure, the Warriors’ star will go down as one of the select few to ever play the game, especially after his jaw-dropping performance in the Olympics.
