Life without Stephen Curry is hard for the Golden State Warriors. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player is still the Warriors’ best player and not having him in uniform because of an injury is hurting Golden State’s chances not just to make the top six of the Western Conference standings but also their odds to secure a guaranteed spot in at least the Play-in Tournament.
After their 109-99 road loss to the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night, the Warriors dropped to three games above .500 with a 34-31 record. The Warriors shot just 40.2 percent from the field and had 15 turnovers. They were also horrible from deep, going 9/28 on their 3-point tries.
Golden State Warriors Rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis Believes They’re Still Better Than The Dallas Mavericks

For Golden State Warriors rookie big man Trayce Jackson-Davis, he still believes that his team can beat Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks – if the Dubs are completely healthy.
“I think we match up well. I mean, it was a game. They’re three quarters. They went on a run. That’s basketball. But at the end of the day, I think us have full strength versus them have full strength. I think that’s the battle, and I like our chances,” Jackson said during the postgame press conference.

It wasn’t just Curry that the Warriors missed in the Mavs game, with Draymond Green also sitting out the contest because of soreness on his back. Without Curry and Green, the Warriors didn’t have their respective anchors on offense and defense.
The Warriors, who have gone 0-2 so far in the 2023-24 NBA campaign against Dallas, will have two more games against Dallas before the end of the regular season.
