Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry went viral for reacting negatively to Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping single, “Not Like Us” when it was continuously played during Team USA practice, saying “It’s not the only song in America.”
Apparently, he reacted this way because Curry revealed in his recent interview with GQ that he has always been a “Drake guy.”
“I’m a big Drake guy. I’ve been for a long time,” said Curry. “I think obviously you know what it is for the rap industry to have that, but I still rock with Drake. Absolutely. Absolutely.”
The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has been the talk of the town this summer, not only in the music industry but also in the sports world, particularly in the NBA.
Sacramento Kings forward DeMar DeRozan turned heads when he appeared in the “Not Like Us” music video but later clarified that he and Drake are still good friends.
Golden State Warriors need another big year from Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry may be getting up there in age, but he remains a Top 10 player in the NBA because of his uncanny ability to shoot the basketball and make plays for his teammates.
The 36-year-old won the NBA Clutch Player of the Year award last season after averaging 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists on 45/41/92 shooting splits in 74 regular season games.
If the Golden State Warriors plan to maximize their championship-contending window with Curry, they must surround him with elite talent, especially after Klay Thompson’s departure.
However, the Golden State Warriors haven’t done that so far this offseason, and they just missed out on Lauri Markkanen, who just signed a new lucrative extension with the Utah Jazz.
