The Golden State Warriors weren’t able to secure a playoff spot on Sunday as they suffered a 124-119 overtime loss against the Los Angeles Clippers. It was the Warriors’ final game of the 2024-25 NBA season and the team was looking to end their campaign on a high note. However, their loss to the Clippers means they will play in the Play-In Tournament, a familiar spot they’ve already participated in.
All-Star guard Stephen Curry had 36 points, three rebounds, six assists and two steals. He had a great shooting performance as he made 50 percent of his shots and 58.3 percent of his 3-pointers. In the fourth quarter, the two-time MVP was unstoppable and shot 5-for-5 from the field for 18 points.
Unfortunately, his efforts weren’t enough to push the team to victory.

One area where most fans were surprised was the absence of Jonathan Kuminga. The forward wasn’t listed in the injury report but didn’t appear on the court. Before the game, the Warriors submitted the injury report and only featured two players, Curry and Gary Payton II. Both players were listed as questionable and still played significant minutes for Golden State.
After the game, the four-time champion shared his thoughts on the young forward logging a DNP (Did Not Play).
“Just to be ready. It’s the test of a young player in this league and, especially with our team. … It wasn’t his time tonight. … Don’t let noise outside of the locker room. The attention that might come from it, distract you from your ability to make an impact when your number is called,” the 11-time All-Star said.

After the tough loss, Kuminga was seen shooting the ball in an empty Chase Center.
The Golden State Warriors are scheduled to play against the Memphis Grizzlies in the Play-In Tournament on Tuesday, April 15, for a playoff spot.
Golden State Warriors star is confident in the Play-In Tournament with Jimmy Butler

The Golden State Warriors are heading into the Play-In Tournament with enough confidence with their stars. While they’ve already experienced playing in the tournament, having an experienced star in Jimmy Butler who has played in a number of Play-In situations is an advantage for them.
When asked about their upcoming game against Memphis, Curry expressed the confidence the team should display with Butler’s Play-In experience.
“We joked about that last week. He (Jimmy) went into the play-in packing for two months, so we would love to have that opportunity. What we can learn is we need to win. We haven’t had a good outcome (in play-in),” the Warriors star said.

The Golden State Warriors have played in the tournament twice since it was included in the 2020-21 season. Unfortunately for the California-based team, they haven’t had the best of luck, losing both instances.
