The best revenge is success and that is what Scotty Pippen Jr. is doing right now for the Memphis Grizzlies.
Pippen played massively for the Grizzlies against his former team Los Angeles Lakers who was without Anthony Davis, scoring 14 points, grabbed six rebounds, and provided four assists while making big plays in the fourth quarter.
He spent one season between the Lakers and their G-League affiliate South Bay, a tenure that wasn’t that pretty for him. He is now using this bitter time wearing Purple and Gold to play his best on the court for a new organization.

“Definitely. They didn’t believe in me, so I’m out here trying my best,” the 2022 undrafted player told the courtside reporter when asked if there is something a little extra for him when he played against the Lakers.
Few hours before that, he confirmed that there is still “a chip in my shoulder” because of a coach that did not believe in him.
This is the second time that Pippen Jr. talked about his personal vendetta against the Lakers. The first time was when the Grizzlies played and won against the Milwaukee Bucks who now has former Lakers coach Darvin Ham as assistant.
“One of the coaches over there didn’t believe in me, so i definitely wanted to show that i can play some defense,” he said after the game.
He scored 16 points of the bench while limiting Damian Lillard to his career low four points.
Scotty Pippen Jr. contract is testament to his potential
Pippen is a man on a mission since getting signed by the Lakers. However, to him, it does not feel like he was given the proper opportunity to showcase what he can do.
The Grizzlies saw something in him, signing him to a 3-year regular NBA contract and the son of Chicago Bulls legend is thankful for the trust.
“I think I played like maybe five or six games and never really got significant minutes. So being over here has been like a breath of fresh air. I’ve got an opportunity. I’ve got people that believe in me and trust in me,” Pippen said.
“AD, LeBron. I was over there with them in training camp, so they kind of see what I can do. They kind of believed in me, just told me to just keep working. I don’t know if they saw I would have this kind of path. So they might be shocked by that.”
